Visa Hour Limit

You work part-time at a café. Your manager has asked you to cover extra shifts next fortnight. You would like to help, but the additional hours would push you over the weekly limit allowed by your student visa. Speak to your manager: explain why you cannot take all the shifts and suggest how many you could do.

Hi, thanks for thinking of me for the extra shifts. I'd genuinely like to help out while the team is short. The problem is that my student visa only allows me a set number of hours each fortnight, and if I took all of those shifts I'd go over the limit, which could put my visa at risk. What I can do is pick up two of the shifts, probably the Saturday and Sunday ones, and still stay within my hours. Would that help? I'm happy to work with whatever suits the roster best.
