Everyday purposes can overlap without making the tasks interchangeable. Compare requesting a repair in a Core email with writing a repair-request letter for IELTS, then follow the chosen test’s instruction and length. For speaking, try a Core direct request and compare it with answering an examiner’s follow-up questions.

Which format should I choose?
First check which version your application accepts. Then try representative samples, compare speaking to a microphone with speaking to an examiner, and check local dates, delivery options and fees. This comparison makes no general difficulty ranking. Your own task experience is more useful than a claim that one format suits everyone.
