Essay Extension Request

You have an essay due on Friday for a second-year unit, but you have been unwell for the past week and have a medical certificate. You have not yet started the essay. Speak to your lecturer after class: explain your situation and ask for a short extension.

Excuse me, do you have a minute? I wanted to talk to you about the essay that's due on Friday. Unfortunately I've been quite sick for the past week with a chest infection, and I've got a medical certificate from the campus clinic to show you. Because of that, I haven't been able to make a proper start on it. Would it be possible to have a five-day extension, so I can submit it by next Wednesday? I'll upload the certificate to the special consideration portal today as well. Thank you very much for understanding.
