Quiet Zone Noise
The situation
You are studying for a final exam in the library's silent study area. A group of students at the next table has been chatting loudly and playing videos on a laptop for the past half hour. You have asked them once, but they ignored you. Speak to the librarian: explain the problem and ask what can be done.
Model answer
Hi, sorry to bother you. I'm studying for an exam in the silent area upstairs, and a group at the table next to mine has been talking loudly and watching videos without headphones for about half an hour. I asked them politely to keep it down, but they just carried on. I don't want to cause a scene, so I was hoping a staff member could have a word with them, or perhaps move them to a group study room. Would that be possible? Thanks so much for your help.
