Borrowed Car Scratch

You borrowed your flatmate's car to drive to a job interview. While it was parked at the shopping centre, someone scratched the rear door and left no note. Your flatmate is in the living room. Speak to your flatmate: apologise, explain what happened and suggest how you will cover the repair.

I took your car to the interview this morning like we agreed, and when I came back to the shopping centre car park, there was a long scratch along the rear door. Someone must have hit it while I was inside, and they didn't leave a note. I'd like to pay for the repair myself, so could we get a quote from a panel beater this week? Again, I'm really sorry.
