Privacy policy
This policy is in English. The site interface is available in other languages, but this English version is the one that applies.
RealPTE (realpte.com) is run by PTE Study Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”). We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and how you can see, correct or delete it.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we also receive the account identifier and, if you share it, your name.
- Old RealPTE accounts: if you sign in with an old account, we carry over its username, the email on file and the end date of any VIP access.
- Your practice: the recordings you make, the answers you type, the scores and feedback we give you, and which questions you practise or mark as “I sat this”.
- Payments: Stripe processes payments. We receive the plan you bought, the amount and the payment status. We never see or store your card number.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, kept in short-lived logs and rate-limit counters that protect the site from abuse.
- Visit counts: when a page opens we record which page it was, the site you came from, your country and the kind of device, to count visits. We don't store your network address; a code that changes every day lets us count unique visitors without knowing who they are.
- Cookies and local storage: one sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and small settings saved in your browser, such as your interface language.
How we use it
- To run your account, sign you in and send sign-in links and receipts.
- To score your answers and show your history, your averages and suggestions.
- To process payments and give you the access you bought.
- To keep the service secure and stop automated abuse.
- To improve our scoring, using answers and scores in a form that does not identify you.
- To tell you about important changes to RealPTE. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
Services that process data for us
We use these providers to run RealPTE. Some are outside Australia, so your information may be stored or processed in the United States and other countries. Each one only gets what it needs for its job.
- Vercel hosts the website and its server functions.
- Cloudflare stores recordings, answers and practice history.
- Stripe handles payments.
- Resend sends sign-in and account emails.
- ElevenLabs, with OpenAI as a backup, turns your spoken answers into text with word timings so they can be scored.
- Anthropic (Claude) scores written and open spoken answers and answers your questions to the AI coach. It receives the task, the text of your answer and the scores, not your name or email.
- Google and Apple, only if you choose to sign in with them.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, recordings and practice history while your account is open, so you can go back to them. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your recordings, answers and history. We keep payment records for as long as Australian tax law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete your account and its data. Email admin@realpte.com from the address on your account and we will reply within 30 days. You can also delete your account yourself at any time: how to delete your account.
If you are not happy with how we handled a privacy question, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Young students
RealPTE is meant for people preparing for PTE Academic. If you are under 16, please use it with a parent or guardian's permission.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you by email or on the site.
