Exam Shift Clash

You work part-time at a café and are rostered for a full shift next Thursday afternoon. You have just learned that one of your final exams has been scheduled for that same afternoon. The roster was published two weeks ago. Speak to your manager: explain the clash and ask to swap or change your shift.

Hi, sorry to interrupt, could I have a quick word about next week's roster? I'm down for the Thursday afternoon shift, but the university has just released the exam timetable, and my final exam is at two o'clock that same day. I know the roster went out a couple of weeks ago, so I apologise for the late notice. Would it be okay if I swapped with someone, or moved to the morning shift instead? I've already asked a colleague and she's happy to cover Thursday if you approve it. Thanks for being flexible.
