Beginner Session Proposal
The situation
You joined the university badminton club this semester, but every session is dominated by advanced players, and several new members have stopped coming. You think a weekly beginners' hour with some basic coaching would keep them involved. Speak to the club president: describe what you have noticed and propose your idea, offering to help organise it.
Model answer
Hi, have you got a couple of minutes? I've really enjoyed joining the club this semester, but I've noticed something I wanted to share. Most sessions end up being fast games between the experienced players, and a few of the newer members I started with have already stopped coming because they felt out of their depth. I was wondering whether we could run a beginners' hour once a week, maybe before the main session, with some basic drills. I'd be happy to help organise it or book the courts. What do you think?
