Empty Room Bookings
The situation
You work part-time in a small office where there is only one meeting room. A colleague regularly books it for whole afternoons but often leaves it empty, so you cannot hold your client calls there. Speak to your colleague: politely raise the problem and suggest a fairer way to share the room.
Model answer
Hi, have you got a minute? I wanted to ask about the meeting room. I've noticed it's often booked for the whole afternoon under your name, but it's sometimes empty when I walk past, and I've had to take a few client calls from the open office, which isn't ideal. I completely understand you need it for your meetings. Would you be open to booking it just for the hours you actually need, and maybe releasing it if a meeting gets cancelled? That way we could both use it. Thanks, I appreciate it.
